Gertrud Müeller
Gertrud Müeller is a self taught mosaic artist born in Halle, Germany. She created mosaics since 2012 in Turkey, Brazil and China before she settled in Germany in 2022.
Her main area of work is to facilitate community mosaic murals and teamwork events using mosaic. Her training and experience as occupational therapist and public project management specialist help her current work.
Among the mosaic murals projects that Gertrud directed is a mosaic mural on Climate Change (opens new window) which was installed at the campus of the German Embassy School and Community Centre in Beijing, China last spring.
Gertrud records her community projects with video. Her film about the Refugee Community Mosaic Project in Ankara/Turkey won the “Coup de Coeur” prize at the 13th conference of the ICCM (International Committee for Conservation of Mosaics) in Barcelona 2017.
The Team building project “Athos meets Gaudi” (opens new window) at the UN house in Brasilia in 2018 where over 90 employees made a mosaic mural together for the entrance hall of the building won recognition from SAMA for the exhibition of community projects in Nashville/TN in 2019.
In 2015 Gertrud founded MosaicMoments Studio, where she teaches mosaic workshops (opens new window) to get mosaic to the people and let them enjoy and educate them about this ancient craft.
