Columns, Tool Tips & 'Crack-Ups'
Stained glass and mosaics are everywhere! As practitioners who get to crawl around both contemporary and historic installations and get up close and personal with the nuts and bolts of how it happens, we enjoy a unique vantage point.
As we launch our 118th year of continuous publication, we are excited to introduce several new columns where you can share tool tips, safety advice, or ‘curious’ finds.
Have a question? Submit to our generous community of glass scientists and materials engineers.
When we share our finds and what's on our minds, the whole community benefits!
Submit your curious find to "CRACK-UP" (opens new window)

Submit an Article
Stained Glass Quarterly is a professional-level publication for the architectural stained glass industry.
Manuscripts directly related to the historical, architectural, technical, business, artistic or craft aspects of the stained and decorative architectural glass craft are given first consideration. This includes articles about glass painting and staining, mosaics, dalle de verre, lamination, kilnforming, and potentialities of glass as a material. Manuscripts of peripheral or general interest may be considered.
To be considered for publication, check our Writing Guidelines.
Not all submissions will be accepted for publication. Select submissions may also be posted on our website. We ask that all submissions be fact-checked and proofed by the submitting author. All submissions are also peer-reviewed.
Submissions are considered based not only on the content of the submitted text but also juried heavily on the quality of the submitted photography. We strongly encourage all those considering submissions to consider professional photography of their work both in-progress and in-situ.
Submissions should be sent via email or WeTransfer. You will receive a confirmation email but please note the review process takes two to three months.

Please note that we do not accept classified ads for selling art pieces—this section of our magazines is more appropriate for resources, supplies, and tools.

City Profiles Survey Now Open!
In 2025, one of our goals for the Stained Glass Quarterly is to launch a new feature – City Profiles! This section will spotlight a different location across the USA and Canada, offering a local "top 10 must-see" list for all things glass-related. We also plan to share the City Profiles on our website for easy access when you're planning your travels.
We’d love to hear from you! Fill out the linked survey and share it with a friend. Whether it’s your hometown, a city you’ve explored, or your current corner of the world, we’re excited to learn about the glass treasures that make these places special!
