Get ready for our next upcoming Annual Conference!
September 27, 2023 – October 1, 2023
Buffalo, NY, USA
The Stained Glass Association of America (SGAA) will be celebrating its 120th anniversary and the 112th annual conference and we’re headed to SGAA headquarters in the city of Buffalo, NY! We are excited to partner once again with the Society of American Mosaic Artists (SAMA) (opens new window) as we create a more inclusive conference experience for artisans, representing the many potentials across our mediums and materials.
By 1906 (the year the Stained Glass Quarterly was founded), Buffalo was the 6th largest port in the world. By 1951, it was the 11th largest industrial center in the country, the largest inland water port, the 2nd largest railroad center, and the 15th largest city in the country. Its collection of architecture boasts Richardson, Sullivan, Wright, Olmsted & Vaux, Bunshaft, Yamasaki, and Pei. Its Grain Elevators inspired Le Corbusier. Forts on both sides of the border. World class parks. A bustling, renewed waterfront. A city surrounded by vineyards. And, of course, Niagara Falls.
Workshops and presentations will offer educational experiences for all attendees, along with Stained Glass and Mosaic Tours, a Vendor Marketplace, the Mosaic Marathon, an Art Salon/Silent Auction and a juried exhibition.
Expect the program in 2023 to challenge and inspire you. In a city of architecture, a city of renaissance, a city of food and culture and triumph, join the SGAA & SAMA as we gather to explore the challenges facing our industries and communities today. We will explore innovation, technology, preservation, and creation, staying ever in service of the integrity of our art forms and the communities we serve.
We look forward to welcoming you to Buffalo, New York and to a conference like none other in SGAA + SAMA’s history!

Each year's national conference provides an educational and creative hub for glass artists, historians, manufacturers, and architects.
