Join SGAA as an Affiliate Member
Not everyone who loves stained glass works in a studio. Affiliate Membership is for the people who are drawn to this craft, who want to support it, learn from it, and be part of the community that sustains it. It is also the required first step for anyone who intends to pursue Professional or Accredited membership down the road.
Whether you are a hobbyist building your first panel, a student studying architectural preservation, an enthusiast who has collected glass for years, or simply someone who found the SGAA and knew you belonged here, this is where you start.
Join a community of people who love to explore and share the beauty, history, function, and craftsmanship of art glass. Affiliate Membership is open to anyone who wants to support the work of the SGAA and be part of the stained glass community, regardless of professional involvement in the field. There are no prerequisites and no application review process. Fill out the form, submit your dues, and you're in.

"My husband has been a part of the SGAA for years as an Affiliate Member. We love to travel and now we look up and visit studios everywhere we go. This community is unfailingly generous in opening their doors and sharing their passion."
—D.D., Iowa
"I cannot believe how much energy and passion this group has. I'm not sure what I was expecting, but every time I call the office and ask for help, I am completely energized by whoever I talk to and wherever the conversation leaves me. The expertise I have access to is a benefit that goes without saying, but the fun and the joy is invaluable."
—C.M., Virginia
"I have been attending conferences for decades and I have collected all of these panels made by these incredible artists that inspire me. They are hanging in my breakfast nook. Now, I feel like I am eating breakfast with my friends even between conferences and it is fabulous."
—S.G., New York
Affiliate membership is the starting point for the SGAA's full credentialing pathway. After one year as an Affiliate Member in good standing, you are eligible to apply for Professional Membership. Professional Membership, in turn, is the prerequisite for Accredited Professional membership, the SGAA's highest level of recognition.
There is no pressure to move through that pathway on any particular timeline. Some Affiliate Members stay at this level for years because it fits their involvement with the craft. Others use their Affiliate year to connect, learn, and prepare a Professional application. Both are right.
The affiliate membership year is rolling based on your join date.
