General Information

¡Celebra Vitral!

Education | Manufacturing Roundtable | Materials & Supplies Showcase
Scholarship Auction | Exhibition |Networking

Join us in San Antonio, Texas for our first ever joint conference - Each conference is a successful event in its own right but by joining forces for our annual conference this year, we will bring together at least twice the number of attendees and exponentially expand the forum we are able to provide.

Notable international guests include Helen Whittaker, Keith Barley, and Steve Cowan from the United Kingdom. Speakers include artists Susan Stinsmuehlen-Amend, Sasha Zhitneva, J. Kenneth Leap, Laurel Porcari, conservator Mary Clerkin Higgins, and historian Rolf Achilles. In addition, we will hear from Old World Stone's  Laurie Wells, and J. Sussman's Robin Sussman.

This year, we are excited to have so many glass manufacturers joining us and we will hear from all of them during the Art Glass Manufacturing Forum. And we would be remiss to not take advantage of having so many renowned restoration and conservation specialists with us: Keith Barley, Barley Studio, U.K.; Mary Clerkin Higgins, Clerkin Higgins Stained Glass, Inc.; Ralph Mills, Pittsburgh Stained Glass Studio; Vic Rothman, Victor Rothman for Stained Glass;  Ariana Makau, Nzilani Glass Conservation and others will lead a Restoration Panel.

Welcome to Texas!

Conference Hosts,

Jack Whitworth, Whitworth Stained Glass
Bryant Stanton, Stanton Studios
Cynthia Courage, Attenhofer's Stained Glass

Stops include Lila Cockrell Theatre and the Confluence of Civilizations in America Mosaic, Basilica of the National Shrine of the Little Flower, and Temple Beth-El among others.

Cost of the tour includes lunch and one-hour reception at the end of the tour. Buses return to the hotel at 5pm.  At the end of the reception, attendees have the option to stay at the Pearl Brewery for dinner and take their own transport back to the hotel (10min drive/Uber or 30min walk down Riverwalk). This tour is stand alone and is not included in any packages.

Tour 2 - Fredericksburg (FBG) Wine Tasting Excursion  Limit: 15 attendees
Wednesday June 5th, 9:30am - 5pm                $115 members/$125 non-members

We will leave the Hotel promptly at 9:30AM and drive out to St. Mary’s Catholic Church in the quaint German town of Fredericksburg (FBG), TX. St. Mary's Catholic Church is listed at one of the Painted Churches of Texas, but it also notable for its stained glass work.

From there we will head up to what makes Fredericksburg a top tourist stop: Main Street, with shopping, wine and food. Lunch we be on our own at The Fredericksburg Brewing Company. Here you may choose to taste 6 of the beers brewed on site or simply enjoy German or American inspired fare. After that, we will visit both Grape Creek and Becker Vineyards Wine Tasting Rooms on Main Street. There will be some time to take in some of the other shops - fancy some Chocolates? We can go by Quintessential Chocolates, a chocolatier in FBG that creates Liquor and Wine (yes, more wine) filled chocolates using a process over 200 years old that the Swiss developed called Starch Casting.

From Main Street we will head out to Bingham Family Vineyards to enjoy a tasting of their wines. Here we can also see up close and personal a bar top designed by our very own Stanton Studios. We will then head out for a quick photo op at Luckenbach, TX - Population 3… Don’t make us sing the song. Just think Waylon Jennings and Willie Nelson. Finally, we will return to San Antonio where you will have the option to meet up with the other tour group at Pearl Brewery for dinner or be dropped off at the hotel.

This tour is stand alone and is not included in any packages.
