Broken down into small groups, tour the expansive Pilkington Plant and their Float Glass Line just outside of Toledo where ribbons of glass in a variety of styles come rolling down on a bed of molten tin. This fascinating process and the many, many products it creates are integral to architectural design and installations. Pilkington is not just a leader in current primary and secondary glazing supplies, they are also a leader in research and development, constantly searching for new solutions that solve issues for architectural, industrial and artistic problems. Their partnership with Toledo's Art Commission is a collaboration of industry, design, and art inspired by the studio glass movement and the experimental glass workshops held in Toledo, OH in 1962. Come learn more about one of the world's biggest glass manufacturers and their efforts to continue innovating the glass of the future.
