The conference is not the same as a class; however, generally the Annual Summer Conference has either (or sometimes both) pre- and post-Conference classes which are hands-on. Watch The Stained Glass Quarterly for information on specific classes offered.

Irinia, I have been promised a final schedule by next Wednesday (Oct 27th) that will have the dates and times. Church members are welcome to attend -- after all, it's your church and you're the ones welcoming us into it. However, you should know that it will not be a guided tour. Still, you'd be amazed at what you'll find out about your windows by talking to the people who will be there.

I visited your church last month and was absolutely delighted by the windows and the church. There are some amazing windows in there.

Regina, look for a complete schedule to be posted within the week. In the meantime, here is the "FYI: Notes and News" entry about the Syracuse Conference that is published in the Fall 2010 issue of The Stained Glass Quarterly:

Syracuse, NY – June 9-11, 2011; Color and Light. What better location than the Northeast to return to the basic concepts of color and light? We will explore how light is manipulated in space and how light is manipulated through glass. Both traditional and contemporary techniques will be examined to reveal the effects of each.

Conference Highlights
Lectures
“Color and Light and Contemporary Non-Traditional Glass Art” with Sarah Hall
“Keck Studio of Syracuse” with Scott Ouderkirk
“Lighting Stained Glass in the Museum Setting” with Lee Weaver, Virginia Museum of Fine Arts
And many more!

Symposium
Restoration Lead and EPA Lead Regulations
Critique Session
Artists are invited to submit their work and experience a critique session with their peers, decorative artists, a museum curator, and architects.

Conference Tour
First Presbyterian Church: Windows by Tiffany, Tillinghast, La Farge, Lamb & Keck
Holy Cross: Windows by Rambusch
Willard Chapel: Complete Tiffany interior. Speakers from Piercey Studio on mosaics; Rambusch Studio on lighting; Conrad Schmitt Studio on decorative painting; Durr Studio on restoration.

Post-Conference Tour
Join us for a tour of the Corning Glass Center, and, as we make our way home, we will stop at three wineries—Standing Stone, Wagner, and Lamoreaux.

Pre-Conference Classes
The Stained Glass School will again provide hands-on workshops in design and painting on June 7 and 8.

Register now for only $250 until January 1, when registration will go up to $325 (non-member rates are $425). Register early and save! Our Conference hotel will be the Renaissance Syracuse, with rates of $129 per night single/double. Call 800.960.5059 for reservations.
